SOMPTING JUBILEE FESTIVAL

FRI 1 - MON 4 JUNE 2012

Welcome to the Sompting Jubilee Festival

Welcome to the interim web space of the Sompting Jubilee Festival 2012, which will be held on Sompting Recreation Ground, at nearby Sompting Village Hall and at the Harriet Johnson Centre (formerly Sompting Community Centre) over the Jubilee Weekend of Friday 1 to Monday 4 June 2012.  The Festival will, as previously, be part of the Adur Festival, but is now being run by Sompting Parish Council.

The festivities will kick off at Sompting Rec on the afternoon of Friday 1 June.  As things get under way into Saturday and Sunday, there will be music and commentary from Seaside Hospital Radio, live arena events, the Village Hall Open Days, fun fair, craft and charity stalls, 6-a-side football, tug o' war, cream teas, real ale and more music.  An open air church service will take place Sunday morning at 1030.  All this will make up what is now a traditional and great fun weekend for Sompting - plus the special atmosphere this year of being Sompting's very own Jubilee celebration.  And all for free.

Planning of the event by a team from the Parish Council and volunteers from local community groups is now forging ahead.  Details will appear on this space and in due course the new Festival website over the next few months.  Please keep coming back, as this space will be updated as more features and details are added.

.... the Sompting Jubilee Beer Festival ...

Real ale returns to the Sompting Festival, and once again in the beer tent Chris Moon and Pete Smith will be sporting an excellent selection of real ales, beers, lagers, spirits and soft drinks for you to enjoy.  The real ales are hand-picked for your enjoyment.  Details will be available here soon.

The beer proceedings kick off on Friday 1 June at 6 pm for the evening, then recommences at 10 am on Saturday and noon on Sunday.

Sompting Festival is traditionally one of the best places to enjoy a real ale beer festival in Sussex.  With so much else going on in one single venue to complement the finest of beers, live music in the marquee and all the other activities of the Jubilee Festival, just come along, relax and enjoy....

... the Sompting Jubilee Music Festival ...

Sompting's Music Festival has an enviable reputation for the excellent bands who come along to entertain.

If you want to hear the best in local bands, then Sompting is the place to be! Starting Friday evening at 6 pm (along with the Beer Festival), the music continues from 5 pm Saturday, and Sunday from 3 pm.  Don't forget, the entertainment is all FREE.

If you are in a band (or a solo artist), and would like to perform at the Festival, then please email us via the Enquiry message facility below.  All types of music are welcome.

... Sompting Village Hall Open Days ...

The Village Hall Open Days is now an established part of the annual Sompting Festival.  The Jubilee year's promises to be the best yet with a fire engine and hopefully a live steam railway outside, and once again model railways and displays by some of our regular users inside - as usual entry is free, and there'll be refreshments.  There will also be, on Monday 4 June, a children's party and live evening band performance (both by invitation).

... the Sompting Jubilee Festival Arena ...

A huge array of live entertainment is being laid on by local clubs, societies and other voluntary groups giving live displays.  Come and see some of the huge pool of talent buzzing around Sompting and its area, and maybe think about joining some of them.
