INDEPENDENT ORDER OF FORESTERS
The IoF is a fraternal
society whose funds, primarily derived from mutual protection and support
insurance schemes, are ploughed back to enable social activities and charitable
work, especially to help children in need. Foresters supports nearly 100 charities (click here for list) across the UK, including many local
children’s hospices. We believe in helping others in times
of need or disaster and raising funds for worthwhile causes. Foresters help communities by raising
funds for charities and local projects, by volunteering time and by helping
members who need support.
We have branches all around the country. The local branch,
South Downs, meets from time to time at Sompting Village Hall and elsewhere for
social activities such as barn dances and beetle drives. There is a branch newsletter.
