The Hall is suitable for up to 70.
It has chairs for 70, 10 large tables and 6 card tables. There is a car park,
excellent kitchen and toilet facilities, storage, disabled access and a
premises licence. We are
available 365 days a year (2008: 366! – the Hall was in use Christmas Day for
the second year running) to all bona fide users regardless of politics or
religion, and have no such affiliations or representation. In addition to the use of our Hall
facilities at low cost, regular users benefit from publicity opportunities
via a free web page facility on this site and our marketing initiatives. The charity is Level 1 accredited
under the Hallmark quality standard scheme for village halls, and we expect
to attain levels 2 and 3 status over the next two years. Click here
for pictures of our facilities and some of their users. |

Please click here to download our conditions and charges. N.B: 1. Hirers are expected to have regard at all times for the Hall’s neighbours. Our terms include provisions regarding noise levels and measures to preserve the peaceful character of Sompting but with reasonable latitude for bona fide entertainment. Hirers who flout our terms and annoy our neighbours will not be permitted to use the Hall again and risk losing their deposit (see 3 below). 2. Regular user status and hire rates are conditional on a group signing and observing a formal hiring agreement and providing a representative; s/he is required to act as the group’s liaison with the Hall Manager, take responsibility for the group’s proper usage of the Hall and attend Committee of Management meetings. The representative may also become a trustee (see About page). 3. Non-regular users will be asked for a deposit, returnable when the trustees have inspected for damage and cleanliness and satisfied themselves that no complaints have been made by the Hall’s neighbours. The deposit may be higher for some bookings, at the Hall Manager’s discretion. A charge may be deducted or deposit forfeited to cover work or expenses necessitated by damage, complaints from our neighbours or failure to leave the premises in a clean state. |
